Lot Essay

In the present group, Barye combines Braque, deuxième version (see Poletti & Richarme, 2000, no. A23, p. 145) and Épagneul No1, seconde version (op. cit., no. A19, p. 141). First offered in Barye's 1857-8 catalogue, at the Atelier sale the modèle and its plaster were acquired and subsequently edited by Delafontaine.
