Lot Essay

Although offered from 1845, Poletti and Richarme estimate the number of lifetime épreuves of Jaguar dévorant un agouti to be no more than twenty. The model was listed as an esquisse for Jaguar dévorant un lièvre (see lot 134), dating from 1850. The model was edited posthumously by Brame.
