Dating from the late 1820s, Tigre qui marche, modèle de jeunesse appears to be a model of which Barye lost control, since the title does not appear in any of his catalogues, and the modèle was not included in the 1876 Atelier sale (although it was later sold at the 1929 Zoubaloff sale, lot 72, 12,000 francs).
