A LARGE HELLENISTIC GOLD GOOSE EARRING
3RD-2ND CENTURY B.C.
Composed of a goose or duck standing on a double pedestal base, the bird with fine filigree decoration outlining its features, tail feathers and ornament across its breast, from the tail a hollow ring tapers into a hook which attaches to an elaborate composition placed above the bird's head composed of a circular setting surmounted by Isis crown of disc and feathers, with additional flower and tendrils, the whole decorated with filigree, hoop now in two sections
1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) long
