The Costume of Yorkshire, London: Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme and Brown, 1814. 2° (359 x 243mm). Text in English and French, 41 hand-coloured aquatint plates by George Walker. (A few light scattered spots and occasional light marginal dampstaining.) Modern green half morocco.
FIRST EDITION. Abbey Life 432: "Plate 3 is of particular interest in being the first representative of a steam-engine on rails; built by Murray & Blenkinsop, Leeds, in 1812, about two years before Stephenson's engine, it was used from 1812 until 1833"; Brunet II, 325; Colas 3044. Plate 3 is illustrated opposite.
