A DETAILED 25':1" SCALE WATERLINE MODEL OF THE COLLIER CORFIRTH (1934)
modelled by R. Walpole with masts, derricks, radio aerial, stayed anchors with white-painted chains and winches, fairleads, bitts, deck rails, companionways, covered holds, ventilators, central superstructure with wheel house with rangefinder over, wingbridge, wireless shack, stove pipe, derrick winches, stayed funnel, engine room lights, two covered lifeboats in davits and other details. The hull finished in balck and set in a moulded and painted seascape within wood bound glazed display case with legend and knot-work bun feet -- 6 x 14in. (15 x 35.5cm.)

Lot Essay

Built in 1934 for W.. Cory & Sons Lt., she was sold in 1958 and renamed Capetan Manolis, again in 1961 becoming Patrick M and finally in 1966 to Vassos before being broken in 1967.
