Signed Joseph Antram, Watchmaker To His Majesty the King, London, No.1086, circa 1715.
Gilt movement with foliate pierced and engraved eared balance cock, three arm balance, vase-shaped pillars, chain fusee and verge escapement, chased gilt dial with ecentric champevé silver Roman chapter ring, silver date ring with rosette engraved centre and later hand, silver ring for the lunar age with innner revolving foliate engraved moonphase disc with blued steel index pointer, sector aperture above indicating day of week and corresponding deity, sector aperture below indicating the month with corresponding seasons, the opposing aperture with day and night display, plain silver inner and pair cases, leather and shagreen covered outer case with silver piqué decoration.

Joseph Antram was apprenticed in 1697 and made a Free Brother of the Clockmakers' Company in 1706. He was clock maker to King George I. He died in 1723.
