Thick deep red, just starting to show some maturity. An outrageous nose, mind-boggling complexity; smoke, bacon, singed cedar and tobacco, it's all here. Dry, rich, smoky dark currants; lots of extraction and ripe fruit; full. It blows me away every time I taste it. Decades left. Classic and complete. Sep 2002 DW
