by Nicolas Durier (fl. 1758-1788), Paris, 1764/1765, with the charge and discharge marks of Jean-Jacques Prévost 1762-1768, later struck with a Dutch post-1955 control mark for 18-carat gold of foreign origin
Slightly tapering étui of quatrefoil section, the polished gold panels on the four sides of cover and base engraved with bright-cut borders, the broad matted gold borders chased with trailing foliage and flowers, raised reeded rims, the domed cap similarly adorned and topped by a quatrefoil, the matrix engraved with an acollé coat-of-arms, a count's coronet above
