A CONTINENTAL HARDSTONE SNUFF-BOX WITH PARCEL-ENAMELLED GOLD MOUNTS
Italian or Austrian, circa 1800, with the Viennese tax mark 1806-1807 and later struck with two French post-1864 import marks for gold
Octagonal lapis-lazuli box, the panels on cover and base with bevelled edges, the polished gold mounts of the sides enamelled en champlevé et basse-taille in opaque and translucent multi-colours with trailing foliage, bright-cut gold rims
