Geneva, circa 1780/1800, with rubbed prestige marks
Oval box, the cover and base enamelled in translucent night-blue on a radiating sunburst guilloché ground bordered by foliate gold paillons and fluted gold bands, the sides similarly enamelled on a ground of horizontal wavy engine-turning forming a vertical coin pattern and divided by four white enamelled side pilasters engraved with taille d'épargne gold urns, the lid inset with a convex polished gold plaque engraved with black enamelled scrolling initials 'FvM', the outer white enamel borders engraved with gold taille d'épargne stylized acanthus, flanked by two sky blue enamel bands
