An unusual British comic baby teddy bear
with gold mohair, large white, brown and black glass side-glancing eyes, black stitched nose, mouth, arched eyebrows and hand claws, in-operatived mechanism in body and arms, joint legs and original blue and white cotton romper with lace trimmed collar --10¾in. (27.5cm.) high, circa 1910 (ear replaced, holes in oner leg and general wear)

Lot Essay

This bear is similar in style to Chiltern's Master Teddy and various Einco comic toy animals. The mechanism in the body feels like some type of voice box, but also appears to be connected to a type of arm movement.
