Isabella, a gift from 'Teddy' Roosevelt
a Steiff teddy bear with blonde mohair, black boot button eyes, pronounced clipped muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and four claws, swivel head, jointed elongated limbs with felt pad, hump and STEIFF button in ear --15¾in. (40cm.) high, circa 1907 (a few bald patches, general wear, damage to pads and some stuffing shifted)

Provenance
This bear was presented to the vendor's mother, Isabella Redmond, an opera singer, by President Theodore Roosevelt at a political reception held at New York City's Plaza Hotel in 1907.
On the left foot is written 'Come Dance with Me' and on the right '12 1907' and another indistinct message.
