An embellished ivory tanto
late 19th Century
carved all over with numerous figures at leisure among pine trees, one figure riding a caparisoned elephant, with inset stained ivory, mother-of-pearl and horn, incised signature on oval tablet to lower edge -- 14.5in. (36.5cm.) long, (two tiny inset stones missing, very small age crack.)
