A BRONZE MORTAR
Italian, 1788
With an armorial cartouche on one side and inscribed on the other 'DOMVS:ANTVS:SALVADORI CIUIT. PINNE FIERI FECIT ANNO DNI MDCCLXXXVIII'.
Medium brown patina with lighter high points; traces of oxidization.
8 in. (20.3 cm.) high, 9½ in. (24.1 cm.) diam.
