The present bust of an unidentified sitter is related to the school of artists active in Paris in the late 18th century. On stylistic grounds it is closely comparable to a terracotta bust of the Princess of Monaco by Claude Dejoux (1732-1816) dated to 1783 and housed in the Louvre, Paris.
