Of lobed hexagonal form with knops on the slender flaring necks, each decorated on both sides in gilt, grisaille and flesh-tones with Cimon discovering Iphigenia and two companions sleeping beneath a tree below a crest and scrolling gilt leaves and flowers at the necks, minor chips infilled

拍品專文

It is not possible to be certain for which family these guglets were made. See D. S. Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, London, 2003, vol.II, p.216 where the author suggests the families of Halkett or Graham, both of which had connections with Kinross House, Scotland. The scene is after a painting by Rubens, which is in the Imperial Belvedere Gallery, Vienna. See lot 92 for a tankard with the same scene.
