A GRISAILLE, GILT AND SEPIA EUROPEAN-SUBJECT PLATE
CIRCA 1745
Decorated in a central roundel en grisaille with a scene related to the previous lot, but omitting the gentleman and leaving the chair empty, on the floor beside the bed is a chamber-pot, and the lady, having put on stockings, is getting dressed, the rest of her clothes piled up on the table, within a sepia and gilt linked C-scroll surround, gilt linked leaf-scrolls forming cartouches at the border
9 in. (23 cm.) diam.
