A RARE MING IRON-RED AND GREEN-ENAMELLED DISH
UNDERGLAZE-BLUE JIAJING SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1522-1566)
With shallow rounded sides and slightly flaring rim, the interior enamelled in red and green with a five-clawed dragon striding among flame and cloud-scrolls above breaking waves, the exterior with eight similar dragons above waves around the base
2 3/8 in. (16.3 cm.) diam.
