A BLACKFOOT MAN'S BEADED HIDE ENSEMBLE
consisting of collar and necktie, bib, pair of armbands, pair of cuffs, and belt with drop suspensions, each piece contour beaded in numerous shades of opaque and translucent beads, decorated with floral elements, backed with muslin and accented with tubular beads, hide ties
Lengths: the collar and necktie, 18½ in. (47 cm.); the bib, 31 in. (78.8 cm.); the armbands, 11½ in. (29.2 cm.) each; the cuffs, 7 in. (17.8 cm.) each; the belt, 38¼ in. (97.2 cm.)
Provenance
Reportedly collected by an Indian agent (and honorary chief) serving among the Blackfeet in Alberta, Cananda. Descended through the family and gifted to the present owner.
