A Meissen Hausmalerei oval sugar-box and cover
Circa 1728, the Augsburg decoration very slightly later
Naïvely painted with buildings in wooded landscape vignettes divided by iron-red blue and gilt strapwork between gilt band borders, the interior with a similar eisenrot landscape, the shallow domed cover with a crowned and bearded figure holding a dagger and a woman holding a plant, flanked by trees, the border with similar strapwork (chipping to footrim and interior rims of box and cover, box with some flaking to green enamel and slight wear to gilt bands, cover with wear to gilt bands)
