A Kloster-Veilsdorf white-metal mounted needlecase
Circa 1770
Of flattened oval section, the case finely painted with a girl running and holding flowers, the reverse with a bouquet, the cover with a woman carrying lillies, the reverse with a butterfly, the ends with scalloped yellow borders with radiating gilt lines and edged with gilt scrolls and flower-sprays (restoration to cover, minute chipping to upper rim of case adjacent to mount, areas of minute wear)
