A good late 19th/early 20th-Century English anenometer,
signed on the dial CASELLA LONDON No 3969 -- 10.7cm. (4¼in.) diameter

The main dial is graduated 0-99 around its circumference, and labelled VELOCITY IN FEET. It incorporates three subsidiary dials for 100s, 1000s and 10,000s, a brass rod for ZERO-SETTING PAT. No 3729, and a switch for clamping the blued-steel needles. The glazed central dial and eight tin vanes are housed in a black-painted frame with a suspension loop. The stiff leather and card case is lined with blue velvet and applied with a label on the inside with a correction chart bearing the number for this instrument 12127. The outside of the case is stamped in small print MADE IN ENGLAND.
