A good 19th-Century mahogany slide chest,
with hinged lid, fall-down front and twenty-five card trays, each with 20 glass slides -- 37.8cm. (14 7/8in.) wide

There are 500 glass slides in all, by a variety of preparers including H.J. Baker, Clark & Page, J.D. Möller, E. Thum, Richard Souter, H.C. Whitfield, Norman, and many others. There are also sixteen microphotographs by JS, each labelled with the subject and A photographic curiosity for the microscope; four microphotographs by J.B. Dancer, numbers 53, 200, 501 and 510 (the latter two with the number marked in ink); and nine other microphotographs by various makers.
