An unusual display model of a single cylinder overcrank stationary engine with scotch crank of circa 1846,
built by J.F. Bowman, with cylinder 1inch bore x 1½inch stroke, inward facing truncated 'D' valve, the crosshead running in angled guides, shaped crank, the crankshaft supported on four hexagonal columns with gear driven governor, eccentric driven floor mounted feed pump, spoked flywheel and belt pulley, finished in red, 'grey' and polished brightwork and mounted on a simulated tiled floor -- 28 x 17.7cm. (11 x 7in.)
