An unusual electro-medical shock device
Unsigned. Late 19th Century
The small coil held within a circular magnet and turned by means of a pierced brass wheel with ivory handle, held in place by a steel guard with ivory handle, in two pierced diamond-shaped brass supports with two terminals connected with coiled copper wire to the brass sleeves applicators resting when not in use on two ebony supports, on a circular mahogany plinth base with three bun feet, with a glass dome cover -- 10¼ in. (26 cm.) diam.; and
A FRENCH RADIOLOGICAL DEVICE, L. Drault Constructeur Paris BÉ S.G.D.g. 283, early 20th Century, moulded onto the cast-iron base DRAULT A PARIS RADIOLOGIE MÉDICALE, with various terminals, two taps and switch under the base (function unknown) -- 11¾ in. (29.8 cm.) high (2)
