A set of eleven brass county measures
Nichol & Fowler. 19th Century
Each stamped COUNTY OF HERTFORD 1873 also with 62°F and numbered 1515, further with various royal crests for Victoria, George V and George VI and marks for dates up to 1946, for Imperial measures: quarter gill, half gill, gill, half pint, quart, half gallon, gallon, peck, half bushel and bushel, the largest four with carrying handles, the peck and half bushel in a brown painted wooden carrying box with four iron handles with a large trade label in the lid for NICHOLL & FOWLER showing various scales and weights, the bushel measure in a similar box with the same label and additional labels overlaid for Repaired by BELL & DYER, the remainder in an unassociated(?) wooden carrying box with the remains of an old trade label in the lid, overlaid with a label for W. & T. AVERY LTD, each measure with a later perspex cover
