A CASED 14-BORE D.B. PERCUSSION SPORTING GUN

With rebrowned twist barrels signed in full on the rib, silver fore-sight, case-hardened patent breeches engraved with scrollwork at the centre, platinum plugs, long case-hardened tang decorated with running scrollwork and a snipe, signed rounded border engraved case-hardened back-action locks, the right lock finely decorated with two partridges, and the left lock with a pointer (right hammer a working replacement), finely figured walnut half-stock, chequered grip, blued iron mounts finely engraved with scrolls and game birds in landscapes, and on the bow of the trigger-guard with a pointer, blued trigger-plate with pineapple finial, silver escutcheon engraved with owner's crest on the underside of the butt, original brass-mounted ramrod, and some original finish: in lined and fitted mahogany case (damaged around the lock) with some accessories including embossed copper powder-flask, the lid with trade label, flush-fitting carrying handle, and circular escutcheon engraved with owner's initials, London proof marks
