AN UNUSUAL 18-BORE POLISH SILVER-MOUNTED FLINTLOCK PISTOL

With swamped barrel inlaid on the upper side of the breech with a circular panel in silver charged with a coat-of-arms, three stars set vertically between two crescent moons, and with raised sighting flat on the forward section, gold-lined touch-hole, signed flat bevelled lock engraved with scrollwork and with stepped tail (top jaw and screw associated), the pan with water-drain, carved figured walnut full stock (chipped and cracked), full silver mounts engraved with trophies of arms, rococo side-nail washers, spurred pommel, later muzzle band, and silver ramrod, the last three each set with a later Maltese cross (iron parts with surface rust and pitting)
