A Biedermeier maple and ebonised longcase clock, second quarter 19th century
The hood with shallow architectural pediment, with curved trunk above recessed lozenge plinth, on block feet, the 11½in. black painted iron dial with an arcaded Roman and Arabic pewter chapter ring, brass hands and brass hands around the winding holes, subsidiary seconds ring, signed on a disc to the arch MAYER/WOLLIN, the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; possibly associated -- 94¾in. (241cm.) high
