A fan, painted with Diognes holding a cup, a man drinking from his cupped hand in the background, an elaborately clad woman and man standing in front of Diogenes' barrel, a writer with a book inscribed 'Lex Naturae', the verso painted with Apollo and Daphne, the ivory sticks clouté with steel, posé with mother of pearl and carved with a couple sitting in the grass by a picnic table drinking wine - 11in. (28cm), probably 1720s
