An Iron Half-Mask (Mempo)
Muromachi period (16th century)
Forged with standing flanges (yadome) on the cheeks and a protruding chin with a detachable nose piece and two pegs for holding the helmet cords, the interior lacquered red; fitted with a two-lame solid plate throat guard lacquered brown and laced with orange and blue lacing, attached to the mask with printed leather
