Decorated with gilt octopi among crashing waves, the waves deeply carved in relief and finished in a dark shakudo patina, each with silver rims, the inner collar of the fuchi removeable

With Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu (Sword-Fitting Particularly Worthy of Preserving) certificate no. 225861, dated 2001.2.16 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword)
