A Thai bronze head of Buddha, Chien Seng style, early 16th Century
his face with meditative expression, the hair arranged in rows of snail shell curls, the flame finial for insertion into the domed usnisa now missing, traces of gilt lacquer decoration to surface -- 15in. (38cm.) high, later marble stand.
