the two painted metal figures with articulated legs, pivoting at the waist and driven from the going-barrel motor with exterior governor and two-air cylinder movement, in glazed giltwood frame with tune-sheet and painted lake scene -- 14 x 15½in. (35 x 39.5cm.), with Vichy key and stop/start, dated in pencil 1879
