A Lambert Danseuse automaton
with French bisque head impressed 10, shoulderplate, closed mouth, blue paperweight eyes, pierced ears and piled brown hair wig, seated cross-legged on figured-velvet base, the going-barrel movement playing two airs and causing the figure to turn and nod her head, twist a tambourine in her right hand, lift a mask in her left and cross her right leg, in rust silk skirt with green lace overlay, bodice and black velvet jacket -- 17in. (43cm.) high, with Lambert key, (professionally redressed and base re-covered, one finger restored, good movement and tone).
