A SOUTH ARABIAN ALABASTER HEAD OF A BEARDED MAN

The stylized head with almond-shaped eyes recessed for inlay, the short incised mouth with small hole for stud inlay below, a thin beard around the jaw, mounted, 6¾ in. (17.2 cm.) high; a similar relief head of a woman, with long angular nose, grooved brows and with eyes and ears pierced in the centre, long hair falling from behind the ears, mounted, circa 2nd Century B.C. or later, 6½ in. (16.5 cm.) high; and a Syro-Hittite basalt shallow relief, depicting a standing deity above two animals, the deity wears tall conical cap and holds out a flail(?) in his left hand, late 2nd/early 1st millennium B.C., 10¼ in.
