Lot Essay

Thoth, later identified by the Greeks with Hermes, was the Lord of Time, of writing, knowledge and wisdom. The pesesh-kef was the instrument used for 'opening the mouth' of the mummy prior to the burial to enable him to use this faculty, guaranteed for eternity.
