A well engineered 1:12 scale model of Booth's Rectilinear engine of 1843,
built by R. Draper, with brass bound wood lagged brass cylinder 2in. bore x 2in. stroke, cylinder head lubricators, drain cocks, centrally mounted valve chest with separate steamways, studded stuffing box and pedestal type main stop valve, overmounted crankshaft and entablature supported on eight tapered columns with square headed castle nuts and four main bearings, the crosshead running in guides supported on the cylinder head and entablature, spoked flywheel and belt pulley, the metal floor, with pipework under, in turn supported on four turned parallel columns, wood plinth and perspex cover, finished in maroon and polished brightwork -- 36 x 31.7cm. (14 x 12½in.)
