Each baluster vase with scalloped rim above reeded angular foliate handles and painted in colours with clusters of orchids within shaped cartouches edged with gilt foliage and scrolls, the backs with gilt sprays, the lower section with moulded leaf-tips, on socle supports and fixed to tapering square pedestals painted with pendent flowers within beaded and gilt line surrounds, on square bases with gilt gadroons and in-curved corners

Lot Essay

The iron-red gilder's mark may be that of Henry William Sheppard who started at the Royal Worcester Works in 1885.
