QIANLONG/JIAQING PERIOD (1736-1820)
The baluster-shaped vase raised on a rectangular splayed foot, carved in relief on each side of the compressed body with a band of auspicious Buddhist Emblems, each interspersed with cranes in flight and lingzhi sprays, beneath stylised plantain leaves on the waisted neck, flanked on either side of the neck with elephant-head handles suspending loose rings, surmounted by a conforming rectangular cover similarly carved with plantain leaves beneath a lotus finial, the stone of a milky-white tone with small areas of opaque inclusions
