Circa 1710, the glass English
The wide trumpet bowl engraved with two clasped hands under a sunburst within laurel branches and trelliswork cartouches suspending garlands, the reverse inscribed MIND GY EEDLE VRIENDSCHAP TEEDER - VUL MIJ DAN TOT AAN DEN RAND - DRINK MY LEEG EN VUL MY WEEDER - STEL MY ZOO UW VRIEND TER HAND (if you love noble sweet friendship, fill me till the edge, drink me empty and fill me anew, give so in the hand of your friend), with filled lower part, the stem with a triangular knop above a basal knop enclosing an elongated tear, the domed foot folded
