Signed katana mei Naminohira Yukiyasu, Muromachi Period (Early 16th Century)
The blade honzukuri, iorimune, torii-zori with extended chu-kissaki, forging pattern ayasugi with ji-nie, tempered edge ko-midare of ko-nie with kinsuji, o-maru boshi, tang ubu with two holes, nagasa 27in. (68.8cm.), in tachi mounting decorated in black lacquer in dragons, shakudo and gilt menuki of fans, fuchi-kashira, ashi, seme and kojiri of shakudo nanako with gilt fukurin inlaid with shakudo Genji-guruma ni yahazu and mitsu-tsuta mon, iron tsuba with shakudo nanako o-seppa with similar mon, one missing, overall length 39½in. (105cm.)

Genji-guruma-ni-yahazu mon of the Hattori family and the mitsu-tsuta mon of the Matsudaira family of Obata in Kozuke Province.
