The wood frame black lacquered and decorated in gold takamaki-e and hiramaki-e [high and low relief lacquer] depicting butterflies and grasses, the butterflies inlaid with mother of pearl inlay, the front plate bearing a mon [crest] of an arrow flight in a circle, probably the Mori family of Saiki in Bungo
