Full-page woodcut of the Crucifixion on a3v, with the final blank. (Margins cut close affecting a few signatures and page-numbers.) Early 20th-century blue levant morocco, inner gilt dentelle. FIRST EDITION of one of the first printed accounts of the death and funeral of Mary, Queen of Scots. Scott 173.

Part 1 only (of 2), 8° (146 x 92mm). (Title and a few other leaves a little dustsoiled, light stains at the end.) Purple hard-grain morocco gilt by Eedy, g.e. Provenance: Thomas Marsh (contemporary purchase inscription on title, ownership inscription on last page and a few marginalia); Earl of Crewe (bookplate). STC 3978; Scott 75 (mentioning only this part). [William UDALL]. The Historie of the Life and Death of Mary Stuart, Queene of Scotland.
