A CHESHIRE WALNUT OPEN ARMCHAIR
Late 17th century
The back profusely carved with foliage and a panel depicting a naked lady reclining on a skull below a winged egg timer, the toprail centred with vignette depicting a biblical scene, the arms raised on turned supports and the solid seat above a stiff-leaf carved frieze, on turned legs joined by stretchers, the right hand arm stamped 'I.S., the front right leg replaced in oak, probably in the 19th century
