Cross and featherbanded overall, the rectangular top inlaid with an oval, above three graduated drawers, on later bracket feet, the metalwork replaced

Lot Essay

A George I miniature walnut bureau-cabinet, with a collection of miniature books, was sold from a private collection [50 Years of Collecting: The Decorative Arts of Georgian England], in these Rooms, 14 May 2003, lot 5 (£57,360). Lots 2 and 4 were examples of mahogany miniature furniture in the same sale and realised £9,560 and £8,962 respectively.
