A GEORGE III MAHOGANY ARCHITECT'S DESK
Third quarter 18th Century, possibly Scottish
With hinged double-ratcheted top with one removeable book-stop, above a fitted drawer with green-leather ratcheted writing-surface sliding back to reveal five wells, with small drawer to the right, on chamfered legs headed by pierced angle-brackets and joined by a pierced X-shaped stretcher, on castors, two hinges stamped '5516'
