AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY NAPOLEONIC FRENCH PRISONER-OF-WAR WOOD AND COPPER 86-GUN SHIP-OF-THE-LINE
with details including bound masts, yards with foot ropes and stun's'l booms, standing and running rigging, dolphin striker, carved female-form figurehead, boomkins, head rails, catheads, capstan, belfry, well deck, companionways, twenty guns in stepped wood carriages and other details. The carved hull with scored deck, open gun ports with guns, carved decoration, ebony main wale and rudder is mounted on two carved chocks secured to display board with glazed cover (overall restoration, recased). Model -- 10½ x 14in. (26.5 x 35.5cm.); case -- 13½ x 16¼in. (34.5 x 41cm.)
