EINSTEIN, Albert. Autograph letter signed ('Papa') to his son Hans Albert, n.p., 30 August [1937]. One page, 4°.
HANS ALBERT'S NEW LIFE IN NEW YORK: Einstein will pick up his son -- or at least his step-daughter, Margot -- on their arrival in New York. It has been so hot that he has not yet made any arrangements: 'But I have done some work, and with success too'. He hopes that Hans Albert's work will be a success, though he fears that his Swiss upbringing may not have qualified for the business world. 'This problem doesn't come into consideration for me, as I live as if on an island. That's why my English is still pretty rotten'; he is pleased, though, that Hans Albert has been working hard on the language. A postscript concerns the haphazard delivery of their letters.
